Zijn of haar rol belicht in onzekere tijden

Het is de week zonder afval kwam ik ergens tegen. Nú wordt er aan àlles door ons mensen een label gehangen want plakplaatjes zijn een handelsmerk van de mens. En ja dat is soms goed als er aandacht gevraagd kan worden voor de manier waarop wij leven en de aarde vervuilen. Vooral de politiek heeft daar een broertje dood aan want dan moeten ze een oplossing gaan verzinnen van iets waarvan ze liever wegkijken omdat het kiezers kost. En soms hoor je dan wel weer leuke dingen zoals St.Pannenkoek wat zo briljant door wijlen Jan Kruis verzonnen werd. Hij pakte met die strip perfect de lol maar ook de onzin van zulke dagen een aantal plaatjes samen omdat het in ons straatje moet passen.

Wist u dat er een internationale dag van de kunstenaar is waarop diens werk gevierd wordt. De uitgekozen dag valt op de geboortedag van Pablo Picasso. En dat is niet toevallig en als ik daarbij zijn werk La Guernica aanstip dan laat ik doordat te noemen al zie hoe nodig wij als kunstenaars op dit moment zijn. Kunstenaars zijn niet alleen plaatjesmakers, zij zijn ook opiniemakers die durven opkomen voor wat oorlog en conflicten voor gewone mensen betekenen. Dat in dat beeldende of performance een betekenis van vervolging en het waarschuwen tegen onderdrukking kan zitten. Iets waar musea en andere platforms ook juist in een vrij land als Nederland wat meer mee zouden moeten doen omdat het in de beleving van mensen om meer dan blockbusters alleen gaat.

Ik zou dus bij een museum zoals het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam wel een performance willen doen en krans willen leggen op die dag om de positie van kunstenaars uit Rusland, Palestijnse gebieden en andere conflicthaarden te benadrukken en te gedenken. En dat juist niet op 4 mei omdat dat een dag voor de tweede wereldoorlog moet blijven en kunstenaars als groep eens hun positie te geven.

Kunst kan een samenleving veranderen en vrijer maken juist door het zaadje te zijn wat mensen nodig hebben. En daar wordt veel te veel langs heen gekeken terwijl ze onze vrijheid waarborgen. En dat moet anders en beter. Kunst moet ten alle tijde daarom onafhankelijk zijn en niet mee paraderen in wat de politiek, godsdienst of samenleving wil want dat levert vaak onderbuikgevoelens op.

Zullen we als samenleving afspreken om elkaar op 25 oktober op het Museumplein te treffen. En zullen we dat om 1500 uur doen, ik ben er en ik hoop u allen ook.

Zonder kunst en haar mening kent een maatschappij geen echte vrijheid van meningsuiting. En juist daar hangen de genen van onze samenleving vanaf.

Deze tijd vraagt om wakkerheid en wakker worden.

He had several projects which became World famous like the P.O Box of God and Gods Hotline he received worldwide publicity for the last project and for other projects he became wellknown too like the Feetwashing and Peace around the Globe
